Previously treated as the correct name for Q. sinuata Walter (1788) following Ward, D. B., Castanea 72: 177-181 (2007). Ward's neotypification is no longer accepted in this database since his neotype is in conflict with Walter's protologue (ICBN Art. 9.17(b)).
